The writing was so phenomenal, especially with the hindsight - seeing what we lost. Adé specifically felt like a brother to Edward, constantly advising on and off the ship. Felt even more heartbreaking in Rogue.

I just saw this in my game and man that dialogue is excellent. I hope they can one day return to cooking like this again.

Damn, what happened to Assassin's Creed. After Unity it just never felt the same. Now we're back with a great remake of a 13 year old game. I'd absolutely love Assassin's Creed 2 Resynced.

I really hope they surprise us and remaster the Freedom Cry DLC too, it was so much fun to play as Adé hunting down slave ships

The og dialogues every bit of one is so phenomenal

This is easily one of my favorite scenes from Black Flag. I love Edward and Adewale’s conversations; they’re so refreshingly honest. No one’s walking on eggshells. They see each other as equals. Also one of the only times I appreciate Edward, because of this.

2013 Ubisoft was special, even with all its dogshit game designs, they knew how to make great characters with a lot of depth. Now they’re all the underdog wholesome Chungus that can do no wrong.

When I replayed the game a few years ago I wasn’t really paying attention to the story. I am now and I’m so surprised by the writing. Ubisoft’s writing has taken a nosedive since like 2016

I love how we are praising writing from 2013 where postcolonial literature began to peak. However, if this impresses you, then you should read more.

Adewale was a great character, wished he stay by Edward but he joined the Assassin's then Shay killed him. If Edward was still alive by AC Rogue he would've hunted Shay down to the end of the world

When I played through this game for the first time before the remake released, I was shocked at how well written it was. All the characters feel like real people, not static npcs

night and day difference when you compare it to the new characters that talk like quest giver NPCs (and Edward reacts accordingly). Genuinely who at Ubisoft thought it was a good idea to add entire new questlines in this game, smh
