In the Bible, Leviticus 20:10 and Deuteronomy 22:22 say that if a married person has sex with someone else, both of them must be put to death. In ancient times that meant stoning. (God has right for Objective laws) So when someone calls a law “savage,” it’s only their personal opinion.(subjective) Look how fast ideas change: not long ago homosexuality was listed as a mental illness. Today many gay people are teachers. Without any fixed moral standard, an atheist has no solid reason to pick on Islam. 50 years from now, people may look back at today’s laws and call some of them “savage” just as we now look at older practices and judge them harshly. This is the natural result of subjective morality: what counts as right or wrong keeps changing with culture, feelings, and power. Without an objective standard that stays the same, every generation can simply rewrite the rules and condemn the previous one. That’s why the atheist’s charge of “savagery” against any religion has no solid foundation. It’s just today’s opinion, which tomorrow’s opinion can easily overturn.
