So, as I’ve said a zillion times, it’s hard to recognize miracles as they happen. It’s easier to look back and realize that you experienced a miracle, but when you’re in it, you sometimes miss it. That’s what you have me for. 🤣 So, you’ve heard by now how a ballistic missile with hundreds of kilo of explosives landed right in the middle of an apartment complex. You saw the massive amount of damage. You’ve heard that sadly several people were badly injured and many walked away with minor injuries. Some are still fighting for their lives, so it’s hard for me to call that a miracle… (Although I can’t shake the feeling of how much worse this could have been.) However, and sit down for this, you aren’t going to believe this story. First of all, this is a story confirmed by the rescue team who was on the scene so it’s 100% legit. So, after the massive blast, a man on the third floor of one of the buildings that collapsed was looking frantically for his son who had previously been sleeping. He looked and looked and couldn’t find him. Then the rescue team informed him that they found his son and he only sustained light injuries. So where was his son? The impact was so strong that this kid was thrown out the window of the third floor all the way to the ground floor outside of the building. They found him among the rubble. How was he saved, you ask? He was saved because along with him, his bed and mattress were also thrown out the window. He landed on his mattress and walked away with minor scratches. I watched this interview and had to listen a few times to confirm what I had just heard. If that’s not a miracle, I don’t know what is. There are miracles happening all around us. You just have to open your eyes and be willing to see them.

Issues of paternity have shaped our society for generations, especially in Zimbabwe. They did not start today. I remember going to a funeral with my father in the 1990s, and as we sat around the fire the men began sharing stories. One of them has stayed with me ever since. A Zimbabwean doctor had married a nurse, and they struggled to have children. As usual, when there is no child, the blame was placed on the woman. She went to see her own doctor, who told her plainly that she was not the problem, and advised her to bring her husband for testing. The husband refused, as many Zimbabwean men tend to do. Their marriage eventually collapsed, with the man insisting he could not be the problem because he had a child with another woman before marrying the nurse. That woman, he said, was also a doctor, and he was raising that child. After the divorce, the nurse remarried another doctor, and she immediately fell pregnant. Because it was a tight medical community, the whole situation became a talking point. The ex-husband had loudly declared that his former wife was barren, yet here she was having one child after another, three in total, with her new husband. Meanwhile, the ex-husband remarried, and again there were no children. One day the ex-husband and his former wife met at a gathering. During a casual conversation, as people who once knew each other, she told him directly that he was raising a child who was not his. She told him that he had no capacity to father a child and that if he finally went for tests, he would discover the truth. She reminded him how he had insulted her and her parents, and how he had refused to listen. The revelation shook him. He went for tests, and it was confirmed that he was the problem. He had spent seventeen years looking after a child who was not his. The moral of the story is simple, and I always stress this when mentoring young people. When in doubt, check. In fact, even without doubt, check. A DNA test at birth saves you from future heartbreak. Many men are raising children who are not theirs. Some women know exactly what they are doing. Others genuinely do not know because their relationships overlapped before they settled down. In those cases, even the woman cannot be sure who the father is. So when you have a child, get a DNA test. If you ask for one and a woman becomes defensive or resistant, that is a major red flag. At that point, the test is no longer optional, it is necessary. That is the reality of life today. As they say, trust is beautiful, but DNA is confirmation. In this life we live, hope is not a strategy when it comes to your children, so test your child and protect your future, as the saying goes. I have DNA stories that I could share for a whole year. If compulsory DNA testing was demanded of all of us today, you will be shocked by what will come out. This brother in the video is now going through denial. He has been told the truth, but he is still in shock, which is why he is asking for silly things from this woman. I have spent the last 5 years bringing food to Holocaust survivors in New York. Most of them are alone, many widowed, and living below the poverty line. I sit with them over a meal, keep them company and listen to their story. It has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. This is David's story. David is a 99 year old Holocaust survivor. He was deported to Auschwitz with his family. Every single member of his family was murdered there. But David survived. He later moved to America. He met the love of his life and had 4 children. I ask him what he'd like to tell you at the end of this video and he says this, "I've never left Auschwitz. When I sleep, I am still there. They still run after me. They still want to kill me." At 99, he is still not finished there.

This man has his American Bully dog at a park. The dog was sitting in a sit/stay training excercise. He’s had extensive training. He did have a leash on but his owner obviously didn’t have the leash in his hand, part of his continued training. As the owner walks back to him, a gentleman comes up and asks him to please put him on a leash and to hold the leash because there is a lot of distractions at the park. The owner replies “that is part of training.” The owner said “If I thought there was even a small chance he would harm a kid or react the wrong way, I wouldn't put him in that position. This isn't luck. This is hours and hours of real world training, consistency, and building him up around distractions the right way….. Breeds like American Bullies and similar dogs get judged before people even see them work, but this is what they're really about with the right leadership. Loyal, stable, and solid companions.” Some people said the gentleman who approached the owner was putting his own insecurities on a very well mannered dog. He had instant judgement. Others at the park complimented the owner on how well behaved his dog was. What a good boy that dog was. ❤️ Would you be upset if you were at the park with your child and saw this dog sitting there with his owner about 50 yards away? Do you think the owner was irresponsible? Do you think the gentleman had a right to be concerned and a right to remind the owner that there was a lot going on?

I've been sitting on the evidence for this Girlguiding story since March. Even then, it took months to persuade a mainstream publication to cover this aspect of the investigation. For an independent journalist, pursuing a story like this without the backing of a national newspaper's legal team carries obvious risks. But I persisted because I believe there is a strong public interest in asking whether organisations entrusted with the care of girls are putting safeguarding first. This investigation involved months of conversations, verification and painstaking work. Unsurprisingly, some people have suggested that concerns about these issues are exaggerated. That is why I'm sharing some of the publicly available material I found online. To be absolutely clear, there is no suggestion that this individual has done anything wrong. Indeed one could argue he has also been failed by a system that affirmed and accepted him as a Girlguiding leader and later appointed him to a 16-person advisory committee - apparently without sufficient scrutiny of his suitability for the role. The greater failure, however, was towards the girls and women who should never have been expected to accept males in a single-sex organisation. I hope this story helps explain why many women believe this debate has never simply been about being "kind". It is about safeguarding, boundaries and whose interests are prioritised. I'm grateful to everyone who helped bring this story to light, including women who spoke to me privately and helped with research. And Graham Linehan who reminded me how important it was to tell this story. And I do think we should ask why it was so difficult to secure national coverage of a story that many people would regard as being firmly in the public interest.

Last week in Harrison, Arkansas, 16-year-old Brayden Anderson was with a group of friends when a gun being handled by another boy accidentally discharged. Brayden was struck and killed. The young man holding that weapon has since been charged with negligent homicide. Tomorrow, Brayden will be laid to rest. His father, Aaron, has invited everyone to Brayden’s Celebration of Life. The community. The first responders who were on scene that day. Every teenager who was in that room when Brayden was killed. Everyone. He has made it clear that there will be no hatred, no hostility and no pointing fingers. Tonight, I watched this video of Aaron saying he forgives the boy who was holding the gun. “Two lives were destroyed that day… We still have a chance to save one.” That stopped me. This man is preparing to bury his 16-year-old son, and he is worried about the boy who accidentally killed him. He knows that boy will carry this for the rest of his life, and he doesn’t want this tragedy to destroy what remains of it. I don’t know if I could do what Aaron is doing. I look at the way he is walking through the unimaginable, and I see a Christ-centered life in a way I can only dream of living one day. There is something incredibly humbling about watching someone live out the faith I profess when it costs this much. Please watch his video. And please pray. Pray for Aaron and his family as they lay Brayden to rest tomorrow. Pray for the kids who were in that room. Pray for the first responders who answered that call.
