This is seriously the best ad ever made about speeding. I don’t think a single person was indifferent to it.

The UK does some powerful road ads. This is still my favourite. 'Live With It' Warning - Viewers may find this upsetting.

So many ppl debating who is really at fault here and I just ? Literally the point of the ad is that it doesn't matter who is at fault when you're dead. Both are at fault for making mistakes that wouldn't have mattered had the other not made their mistake.

Another great ad --- for seatbelts ("Embrace Life") I must have watched this 300 times. Brings a tear almost every time.

It's a powerful ad but if you ask me it puts too much blame on the speeder relative to the person not paying attention. At minimum, they are equally as responsible, perhaps the guy pulling out more so. In the U.K a road like that would likely be 60mph (96kph) anyway.

I've been in such a situation a few decades ago, I was waiting at a red light in my 2CV. As soon as it turned green I engaged on the road and was hit by someone who was driving to fast to stop. Now I take my time before I engage on the road.

Guy pulls out in front of a car with maybe a 10 foot clearance at best and they wanna blame the guy speeding? Guy turning is just impatient and needed to wait like 3 seconds

Slow drivers are usually the distracted drivers. The speeders are usually the ones that are in fully focused on the road.

Speeding can lead to bad things but the driver pulling out is at fault, regardless of how fast the other person was going. If your safety, and your child's safety, is dependent on your decisions, then you should consider things more carefully when pulling into oncoming traffic.

This was made to be shown in schools, I think (too long for an advert). But hits hard. Its the little kid asking his (presumably dead) parents to wake up that gets me.

Heavy. There is another with teens and one or two not buckled in. It is slow motion interior view. It hits just as hard. Helps a little next time out.

This drink drive advert in the UK in the early 90's terrified me as a kid. First time I saw it, thought it was a beer advert. Chilled me to the bone 😱

New Zealand had some crazy driving ads back in the day

This is a UK one that hits.

Yep I grew up with a series of these brutally brilliant ads here in New Zealand in my teenage years when I first started driving. Burnt into my memory and probably saved my life.

I don't remember where I saw it but one that stuck with me warned about holding a baby in the backseat. Car abruptly stopped, baby flew out of mother's arms. Next you saw the mother sitting in a chair at an institution, rocking back and forth while holding a bundle.

I’ve never seen this before. It is well done and does make you think. We all make mistakes and most of us have gone too fast at some point. A good reminder to all drivers… because it doesn’t really matter where you want to place the blame… if someone you love dies.

Average speed on the Germany highway is exactly double that of the UK's motorway, and fatal accidents per kilometer is exactly half lol. No, it's not about speed.
