Or, rocks and cement :) It is having an overhaul, I built it as a young teen back in the 80’s.

My Father was a Developer, and an Architect - his father was a carpenter and he followed suit, inheriting the tools and skills. He was a Master of the table saw and router, and one day he just decided to build us a scale model house. He milled up all the tiny 2x4's and 2x6's, and started building, to pretty much the same scale as is this building here. This takes it to a whole 'nother level, though, with scale model OSB, Siding, and even shingles! Get kids hooked on Framing and Finish Work, mix up a thimble full of scale drywall mud, and they will never look at their Legos in the same way again!

Imagine running all the wiring and plumbing 😂 . Miniature HVAC system.

Too bad even this model is $480k, but at least you can get a 50 year mortgage so your payment will only be 4500$ a month. 😂👍

Kind of a different version of a Gingerbread house . That is so neat !

Never realized that I could have learned how to build a house this whole time... Am I that retarded?

This would be a great idea to sell kits for children to learn real construction and architecture skills! And also, yes. I want one too as a man almost 40 years old

@CNforUSA I love small models like this!

@CNforUSA I love this!! That would make a great Christmas present at my house!

I can't afford the permits and environmental studies required by California to build something like that. 😢

OK, where do I buy? Take my money please.

Lincoln logs were the shit but having something like this back then would have been even cooler. Damn. Then you had the metal build sets, forget the name.

@NobodymrRobert This is neat, but the ROI is just not there. Imagine, the investment in the machinery, drawings, logistics, and merchandising just to turn a profit in a niche market.

Lets be honest we all want to do things irl

Sorry, I am over 50 , still have my legos and trains.

I've done scale model building before like that house it really alot of fun

I'm in my 50's. Literally looking this week at erector sets from my youth thinking how cool it would be to get another one and build something. I actually love this mini home build idea.

All things construction, mechanical or crafty!... I'm in.

Does it come with these?

There used to be a guy on the Greenleaf forum who stick-built dollhouses.

IF WE CANNOT TEACH OUR CHILDREN HOW TO SURVIVE PHYSICALLY THEN WE HAVE MOST CERTAINLY FAILED!!This should be a requirement before graduation. Dammit, that’s just common sense!

Fuck that… I’m trying to keep my actual house from falling apart!!

Fun way to teach young adults a trade!

@RCEY28 That’s interesting we’ve owned 6 different houses but I had no idea how the framing went together.

No. This is retarded.

That’d be cool if it also came with a miniature inspector that was a real fudd type to break your balls every step of the way!

Here you go! @jenbegakis

I built one in high school in 1972 for architectural drawing class. We had to design the house and then used scale cut lumber to build it. It later became a doll house for a young girl.

I'll be damned. It teaches you how to build a home? Awesome!

Love this! Where’d they get that roof sheathing?

Did it in HS Architecture class. All you really need is a ton of Balsa wood, some parts from the hobby shop, and a HUGE amount of patience.

This actually looks hella fun. @FMcCallister131 @bbbiotchKenny

We all have the same level of autism I see
