This is so cool. Steve Martin going toe to toe with Gregory Hines in 1981.

This is from the 1981 live variety show, Steve Martin's Best Show Ever. Steve's ambitious Pennies from Heaven came out a few weeks later. The film was a failure commercially, but time has been good as over the years has been less maligned and more appreciated.

Hines left us much too early. A tragedy we all suffered.

Martin does a great job selling it but Hines is clearly the better dancer (no shame in that!).

Never saw this before - thanks for sharing. Steve Martin may well be one of the most talented guys walking the planet. Sings, dances, acts, writes, composes music, plays banjo - I don't know what else. I don't always love his humor, but his talent is undeniable.
