This was never about love but emotional abuse. She rejected her husband and basically replaced him with her child so she finally has a boy she can control. It started as protection and bond, ended as manipulation and emotional abuse.

What a selfish parent. Not letting her son find a partner and live happily. She could have lived well with her son, in-laws & grandchildren but she preferred to kept her son for herself. Didn't she ever think that when she died, her son would live alone in loneliness?

I dated this woman. I had to push so hard just to get her to get her parents to watch the kid for a single evening. Her and I would cuddle on the couch and the kid would point at me and screech. It's OK to be a single mom, but all parents need to force appropriate space between them and their kids, even with toddlers. (After breastfeeding probably)
