There’s a straight forward maths trick for cubes which he has learnt. Find the biggest cube in the digits before the thousand e.g. 79 from 79,507. 64 is largest cube that fits, therefore 4 as first digit of cube. Final digit maps to final digit of cube e.g 7 -> 3 Cube = 43
