I have known people in those circumstances and it disgusts me that a supposedly rich country simply condones it and tries to blame the poor for their poverty and appalling situations when the blame lies with those who have power and financial clout but are unwilling to use it.

55 deaths of children since 2019 all because they were living in temporary accommodation, this and deteriorating healthcare removal of benefits is straight from the Victorian era, the only thing missing is workhouses, Duncan Smith’s think tank proposed similar for the disabled

These are the topics we should be making movies on!!!

“Human rights in the UK are under threat.” Without the ECHR, there is no hope.

My wife and I stayed in a rental for 6 months with serious damp conditions that the landlord painted over to hide it. We didn’t have a child but the damp was so bad it ruined clothes+broke both our laptops. If it can break a laptop, imagine what it does to a poor baby’s body.

Many people, including myself, spent years tackling this and other serious housing conditions Progress made Then the #Tories had their "bonfire of regulation". And withdrawal of local authority funding. Deliberate sabotage of the wellbeing of 000's of families, children, elderly.

#beforeoureyes These young lives do matter to society but they don't matter to the establishment. None of us do. Old, young, sick, poor we all have to fight the system every day and most times the system wins.

not another TV drama to wake up this government

@jennipisces Been there! Spent three years living in a rented flat in Edinburgh where there was mould on several walls. The landlord claimed for the damage on insurance but refused to use that money to repair it. We did what we could ourselves, but my asthma has been worse ever since.

This is absolutely going in underneath our noses. Families living in damp inappropriate accommodation and children living in poverty. In 2024 it's shocking !
