I've actually taken classes in highschool that teach you all of the first things mentioned, I just don't remember any of it cause I was more focused on trying to pass the class

I remember my mom telling me this and she says it all the time 11 and 12th grade should be teaching you about real world things instead of the same exact thing for repeatedly

Home Economics should be about these real life issues and be a required class.

The people who complain about not understanding finance when someone tries to teach them about finance:

Not me acing the Pythagorean theorem omg 😭

Our education system needs an entire overhaul on a national scale.

This is stupid because its absolutely true, but the argument uses elementary school topics to prove a point. Moon phases? A^2+B^2=C^2? At least name something above a 6th grade level.

This is why if you have a finance class in high school, take it! Best class I’ve ever taken

it is so fucked up how they dont teach financial literacy in schools. it should be a required class. it certainly is a class i wish i had, running from middleschool through high school. seriously, who needs algebra 2 when you could learn something useful like finance

American should study the test immigrants have to take to become a American You’ll quickly understand why

School such a waste of time in life bro They teach u shit u don’t need to use in life

And he only has about 2 weeks after high school before all that useless stuff fades too and he becomes as smart as all the other adults

I remember in 4th and 5th grade they took us to this place to understand working like an adult, where all the kids had their own jobs or placements. It was fun, I learned nothing, and in the end of the day it was no school. Then in Middle school my math teacher gave us all jobs and we had to live for a month on our income. Failed that and in fact all but two other kids actually past that project and because no one actually past the project the erased it and past everyone and it never happened again. Literally had no idea what I was doing. It was several years later I saw my late mother pay stub and starting learning about taxes.

Counterpoint. Tax code changes. And it's there in the 1040 directions. A lot of people don't write checks. Period. So many people claim that they cannot afford to buy a house. You REALLY don't want teachers teaching personal finance.

Pretty much. But the mom missed the constitutional lesson where most of that crap is illegal in the first place so all's well that ends well

They are cooked
