This is still the best main story final boss Square Enix ever created.

I loved this battle to be clear. It’s incredible. However. KH3’s final battle was better for me. In the glow of Kingdom hearts, being forced to fight in anti-form and “returning to the light”. The color scheme, the atmosphere in general takes it for me. Again, love this fight.

I completely agree with you. KH3 final battle is incredible and I think overlooked in the community. But Final Xemnas just barely edges over it mostly with the music. But both games have such fantastic final bosses

I have to admit I thought the boss was just alright first go around but oh my god when I went back to it in Critical Mode it genuinely became such an amazing fight just like that, it was stellar. Like everything just clicked where it didn’t before it felt crazy

Riku appearing in the final world to help you beat the final boss makes this whole segment perfect

KH will never be this peak again. KH2 was a product of its time in the best way possible.

Riku didn't even need to toss sora his keyblade since he can automatically and instantly recall it, they just did that shit to aura farm

When does that second one trigger btw? I’ve gotten it one time in my life ever and I don’t know what causes it, but it looks so cool with Riku throwing Sora’s keyblade back at him.

Well in the original it should appear while you’re still in the air from Xemnas’s grab attack. Yet the 2.5 version messed with the RC which is why I did session. But I believe the same rules still apply.

That’s crazy. Was this in the base game? Cuz I swear I played this boss fight in particular a billion times on my PS2 and always did the RC but never saw this once until playing 2.5. I assumed it was an FM exclusive otherwise I’d have seen it by now lol

I’ll go as far to say this is like a top 5 final boss oat. One of my mans who doesn’t know anything about KH saw me do this final boss and said “that was one of the best final bosses ever”

It's got the spectacle but I think KH3's final boss has better gameplay. KH2 has way too many fights (and entire world visits) where things like Drive are disabled or limited, including the final boss, which is meant to be a test of the player's built up skills.

I remember it being 2am while on this boss it was such a good sleep after finishing KH2
