This is such a cool video of Solomon's Temple being built.

Solomon's Temple was built around 966 BC. 1 Kings 6:1 places its construction in the 480th year after the Exodus, in the 4th year of Solomon's reign. It stood for nearly 400 years before Nebuchadnezzar destroyed it in 586 BC.

In 586 BC. Nebuchadnezzar's army breached Jerusalem's walls, looted the temple treasury, and burned Solomon's Temple to the ground. What God had filled with his glory, Babylon reduced to ash. The exile had begun.

Herod's Temple took decades to build and was still under construction when Jesus walked its courts. It had a Holy Place, a Priests' Courtyard, and outer courts separating Jew from Gentile. Rome destroyed it in 70 AD, exactly as Jesus predicted.

This map shows Jerusalem in 63 AD. Everything was built around one thing: the Temple. Every wall, gate, and courtyard existed in relation to it. It was the economic, religious, and national center of Jewish life.

In 70 AD, Titus and the Roman legions sacked Jerusalem, looted the city, and burned Herod's Temple to the ground. Over a million Jews died. Jesus had predicted it 40 years earlier. Not one stone was left on another... exactly as he said.

This is a diagram of the Temple Mount today. Where Solomon's Temple and Herod's Temple once stood, the Dome of the Rock now sits. The Western Wall is all that remains.

The Western Wall receives over 12 million visitors a year. It is not part of the Temple itself. It is just the retaining wall beneath it. The Temple is gone. Yet millions still come to touch what remains.

This is our Lord Jesus built the 3rd Temple.

@RobertJJacobsen I was in Israel in December and I every day would go to the site of the temple mount and the ruins of the temple and pray what a glory of God. This video definitely makes the temple vision alive, and you can feel the presence of God.

Cool video. But, one critique. There were no chisels or stonework on-site out of reverence for the Lord. All this work was done remotely. I get that the video included hand tools for dramatic effect. But, it is incorrect. Kings 6-7: In building the temple, only blocks dressed at the quarry were used, and no hammer, chisel or any other iron tool was heard at the temple site while it was being built."

Ok, not a single depiction in this entire video is remotely plausible. But it’s still fun to watch.

My nation awaits the Messiah and a temple in Jerusalem. Sadly, they will be deceived into following a false one who permits a temple that eventually hosts the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel in chapter 9. According to the same prophet in chapter 12, the greatest tragedy in Jewish history is still to come. Thankfully, the nation will be saved from this tragedy, but at a very heavy price. The real Messiah will come at the end of this sad chapter, and as Zechariah wrote in chapter 12: “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced, yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.” Who is the one who was pierced? To understand, read Isaiah 53 for a deeper revelation.

If the builders of this temple woke up today, they would wonder how the temple they built in many years can be built on a screen as they hold their breath.

It is cool, but it always annoys me with the angels. There are no female angels, there are no baby angels, and if we saw a Cherub angel we would run for our lives. THEY HAVE A FACE ON EACH SIDE OF THEIR HEAD. A BULL, EAGLE, LION and the face of a man. NO SKIRTS and more wings.

not sure how accurate it is, but very interesting to watch. it is possible that once the Ark of Covenant will resurface, the whole idea of building will be revolutionized. The Temple is the place for all 70 nations will pray together. it would be time for real #peace.

God placed 2 cherubim at the entrance to Paradise. No person could enter after the fall. The 2 cherubim at the ark & mercy seat served the same purpose- protecting the gateway to heaven where Moses spoke with the invisible God. Orthodox Christians still have two cherubim. They are on metal fans and are movable- they always are held in procession to 1) guard the Holy Gospel book when it enters the church & then is read 2) guard the Holy Eucharist offering when it enters the church & is offered to God. The cherubim guard the altar during the service at other times. It is still the gateway to heaven as in the temple- but all who participate in His liturgy & holy Eucharist enter heaven when they do. Heaven - is now open.

Solomon did not make the Ark, the Bread Shelf or the Menorah - almost every item was made in the dessert under Moshe 's supervision...
