This is, supposedly, almost word for word the same speech that Starmer gave to Labour MPs last night. It was so rousing for them that it convinced many of them he had to stay… Via GB News

“Gay friends of mine say [the word “fag”] is offensive to them—even though many of them use it. It’s the same argument as ‘the n word’ for black people. They use it amongst themselves to reclaim that word…but if a white person uses it at then, it’s obviously a disgusting, racist slur. I think we all know that.” I reject this so much. There aren’t words that are off-limits to certain people because of their skin color, sex, or sexual orientation. It’s absurd for gays to use the word “fag” and then be mad when straights use it—just like it’s absurd for blacks to use the word “nigger” and then be mad when whites use it. Pick a lane.

This speech by Judge Matthew Barrett today in sentencing Tina Peters to 9 years for tampering with voter data was brilliant. What struck me most was that it almost word for word applies to Trump. Worth a listen.

It looks like Robert Jenrick actually left speech somewhere (photocopier), and it was leaked by his inner circle because he said some of this almost word-for-word.

Left: Keir Starmer says that ignoring advice on Mandelson and appointing him anyway, was a mistake Right: Craig Guildford gave testimony in parliament on the banning of Maccabi fans, part of it turned out to be incorrect. When he learnt about it, he corrected the record. Keir Starmer an Shabana Mahmood forced him to resign Starmer made a mistake, doesn't resign Guildford corrects the record after learning about someone else's mistake which led to incorrect testimony, but was forced to resign Keir Starmer has one standard for his own mistake, another standard for everyone else's: Two-tier Keir on display for everyone to see The fact that so many Labour supporters and Labour MPs are ok with this, really is quite shameful. So much for being the party of change

Dave Portnoy says he paid $10,000 for an AI clone to narrate his audiobook for him — and it was “actually scary” how dead-on it sounded. His parents couldn’t even tell the difference. Then Audible shut it down, and he had to record every word himself. “I could only do 15 minutes [of recording a day] because it was that hard for me to read it. I hated it. I tried to get out of it. I paid $10,000 to do AI. I had this AI program for it.” “My parents couldn’t tell the difference. And it could literally just scan the book and go word-for-word.” “It was actually scary how it was dead-on. And it could have literally just done every single word in that book.” “[Audible] wouldn’t let me use it... I was told, ‘No, they don’t let you do that.’ So I had to [record the whole book myself]. I hated it. Hated it!”

The BBC News (UK) read an #Israeli press release almost word for word, then repeated parts of it for emphasis without saying whether any of it had been independently verified. The presenter was happy to use "apparently" when describing Hussam Abu Safiya's condition in prison

For historian Elizabeth Pryor, the N-word posed a quandary. On the one hand, her father, comedian Richard Pryor, used the word on stage as part of his routine. But he would also tell her when she was a child not to let anyone call her the N-word. "I just knew in my heart there was a difference between the word that he was trying to highlight and the racist word that I was called at school," she told PBS News' Geoff Bennett. "But it was hard to figure out." Elizabeth, a professor at Smith College, has spent much of her career studying the origins of the N-word. In her new book, "Something We Said: Richard Pryor, a Notorious Word, and Me," she examines how her father changed comedy and his relationship with the N-word. "He literally told me I had to punch somebody out if they ever call me the N-word," she said. Yet, he "also went up on stage, and he had a gold record that was on the wall, and it was, 'That N-word's crazy.' So it was hard to figure out, as was my dad in many ways, which is part of the story." Elizabeth spoke to Bennett for the latest episode of PBS News' podcast, "Settle In," about her new book and her father's legacy. For the full episode:

Last Word On Spurs Jason sums it up perfectly here for me. There are so many caveats that I feel sacking Ange was the least intelligent way of handling it.

Bro, I freaking called it. I had so many people say I was crazy for saying "the game starts at the Northern Crater." I even got almost word-for-word how Cid's introduction would go.

THIS IS WHY THE WORD “GENOCIDE” MATTERS Lea Burstein was 15 when she was deported to Auschwitz. She never came home. Raphael Lemkin coined the word genocide in 1944 as Europe was confronting the systematic destruction of entire peoples. Today, that word is thrown at Israel as a political slogan. That isn’t just historically dishonest. It empties the word of the horror it was created to describ, and dishonors victims like Lea, while real campaigns of extermination around the world struggle for attention. Words matter. So does remembering why this one word had to be invented.

This guy is a former employee of Crocus. He’s convinced that the FSB was behind that attack because Putin needs conscripts to occupy Kharkiv. He said that the billionaire who owned it put tons of money into it, and they had the best security, fire extinguishing systems, and reservoirs. There was no way for them not to work or even let anyone with explosives or weapons in. Also, OMON base was located opposite the Crocus, and it took an hour for them to come. Too many “coincidences”.

Is it appropriate for Conservative MPs to appear on a channel that is broadcasting this content? Ava-Santina says the fact that the MPs that present on GB News have not spoken out against what was said by Laurence Fox & Dan Wootten about her implies 'they have accepted it'.
