Elephants are so intelligent and empathetic. I do believe he enjoyed that interaction as much as the humans did...and his drumming was pretty good for a first timer, too!

I wish they made dog sized elephants, would make awesome pets.

One of the best-known facts about elephants is that they're smart, with a brain that weighs 4-6kg (9-13lbs.) Much of elephant behavior is actually learned, rather than instinctive. They can even look in a mirror and recognize themselves - something only humans, dolphins, and apes can also do. This shows a self-awareness that few animals possess.

Here is an image of a Bull Elephant who came for a drink at the Tamboti overnight hide. A beast of a sky for a beast of an animal. The moon rise was about an hour later after this male arrived. If he had come later the moon would have added too much light to show off the stars. Sometimes it’s all about a bit of luck.
