I stopped correcting her mistakes. Was good until she burnt down our house and the insurance won’t pay for it.

I think this is misleading…correction is necessary. It’s the language, telling someone to “sit up straight to avoid back pain” is ok, “sit up straight, you dummy” is not ok. Usually people make it derogatory, which causes the shut down in others.

People need to learn how to deal with criticism. It's all constructive if you know how to deal with it. I disagree with the premise of this video. "They" dont break you down, you break you down.

This is devilish. Why should you not correct a child misbehaving. This is why Western societies have mad and crazy people in suits everywhere. Even the Bible admonishes us to correct a child. No child will break if the correction is done appropriately.

So if psychology is so successful at parenting then why are so many people medicated by their therapists? 🤷‍♂️

This is stupidity… Every adults attends to correctional gestures positively, repeated corrections shows ineffective reception and it is only people who don’t care about your personal growth that will stop correcting you. It’s irresponsible humans that get broken by corrections

One person's non over-comeable trauma is another individual's foundational mat for a successful, happy life. Hurt feelings are inevitable Choosing to remain a victim of another's insensitivity or callous remarks is optional.

Well said, a good teacher or a good parent know how to influence and lead by example instead of constantly giving orders and instructions about everything.

I wish I could send this to my NEX. I doubt he’d actually hear the message thought. Self-awareness is not his strength. Coercive control is. My kids always come back to me angry, aggressive & crying at the drop of a hat. It’s all I can do to fill them up with love & empowerment before sending them back to a home the is slowly destroy them from the inside out 😞💔

Written by AI- which is why at the start of the video it takes your side about “trying to be helpful” with corrections- then later says if your spouse does it they are MANIPULATING YOU FOR CONTROL. That makes ZERO sense.

I think an explanation of the importance of feedback versus criticism would have been very helpful. I agree that criticism can have a negative lasting impact, however, use of feedback is critical in human development, which leads to building self awareness, and agency.

@grok How do I teach my son without correcting him. Based on this video, I see a problem but no solution. We correct our son when he does something wrong, as an opportunity to teach him how to do it right. But we feel we may have overdone it.

So how do you fix the issues if someone keeps messing up? Just let them go ? This sounds like gaslighting coming from someone that just wants to be or stay messing up. A person that wants 0 countable for there actions.
