This is the first time my mind has been completely blown away at what Claude could do. I have so many conflicting feelings and thoughts. #claude #opus Not ONLY animated our design. It built it all in #blender3d What does this mean?! (Fellow artists please don't hate me! we... show more

The more you use it, the more you devalue your work and team. Everyone thinks they need to use it to be competitive, and maybe that's true in some circumstances, but that also means slowly putting yourself out of work, plus the immense brain drain and loss of technical knowledge.

Its honestly scary.

It’s crazy and scary, but cope and denying reality don’t help. The idea that our work is being devalued at this scale is terrifying, but if that’s what’s happening, that’s what’s happening and we have to face that and figure out a roadmap for the future. People shaming people, and acting in a mindless angry mob mentality have to be ignored.

The MCP connectors are getting really good. In this example I was focused on 'hand crafting' the volumetrics in EmberGen, but used Claude/Blender MPC to whip up the basic RBD destruction as a starting point.

Whoa....What were the inputs here, did you give it the styleframes of bar charts, etc and it did all the morphing, transitions? The Blender part is like wtf 🤣

I gave it one image and our brand guidelines on figma. -Claude connected to Figma -Ref image -Script 1: Animates in Java outputs mp4 2: Then I asked to to create it in Blender. Did it!

ONE image!? holy cow... so it plugged into the new Figma Motion stuff! keep forgetting they added that earlier this year! Have you tested out Cavalry yet and see if it builds it in there as well?

A tiny tiny bit. But I wonder if Claude works with Cavalry

Yep, pretty crazy! I've seen a lot of cope across X and Reddit recently. These people haven't tested the tools!

I think its important to just be honest about where we are at. I hope these tools can allow artist to overcome technical hurdles much faster

Absolutely, I think this is actually what people imagined AI would be over GenAI. Unfortunately, though the economics of this are going to be brutal.

Bananas!

I expected to see some advanced mecha or a creature with the rig and the walk cycle. But it's a bunch of... moving text? This doesn't look like anything to me. And I am a luddite. Even the cheapest, worst model probably can manage that now, run locally for free on your home GPU.

I've used Claude MCP to do specific tasks and create certain scripts for me in Blender, but I had to be very prescriptive about what it could/couldn't do and it still relied on my expertise. This result is bonkers.

It's extremely powerful. I'm looking forward to the day when this is potentially running on local AI so we can iterate quickly without connecting to servers and getting information back and forth. Being able to try out ideas and then build them to your taste is exciting for me

Crazy good and scary at the same time!

It's insane. I actually didn't start with creative app integration, I started making a little 2D video game. It's completely wild. It actually runs and checks the game before it delivers an update. It even takes SCREENSHOTS of its tests. We live in the future. This is totally insane.

Insane what these things can do now

Yea, it’s tough if your field or role requires its use. In these scenarios, the best path is minimize its impact on work product. Always rely on human taste, professional judgment, & quality control

my question is about the branding, style of the video, did you input it, or all is AI's choice? My thoughts are - how much cost this video in form of tokens?

our team designed the brand. so I gave it our guidelines. and it cost like $10 to generate

so, for example, if project like this cost more like 1k, 2k, now we have to charge 20$ and get 10$ revenue? This is very very problematic.....of course you can always say I will do it better with AI, but the idea that this 10$ can animate it...devalues design services...

@VFXCentral Yes, and this was happening without AI. When something get's easier to create it's value drops. Simple as!

@VFXCentral something that worth mentioning - it is better animator to use it and will make it better than other people. But I love animating such shapes, it feels very good. Now just click a button.

bro lol. this is freakn nuts!

@Dave_MW Honestly I think after seeing this low end is either going to be bulk work or mostly automated. I’m curious to see how well it’ll follow brand guides and I assume it’ll do great. I think our work will stay on the high end custom work. I also think AI will accelerate that.

wow

Here’s the deal. This is the new baseline. Setting up basic animations is no longer a bottleneck. Telling the story is no longer a bottleneck. The next and final boss is simply PURE UNFILTERED CREATIVITY. This is what YOU bring to the process. Not the technical setup of software that we know has been cumbersome and terrible for ages. Just focus on the part you care about, doing cool shit!

Nice to hear your honest thoughts. My analogy I've been holding on to is some design and creative work will be almost like fast food. Its easily produced and people won't care if its not considered quality but just good enough.

My immediate thought is what does a graphic/motion design role look like now? Will it just be cleaning up after AI? I mean sure you might want a creative director. but you won't need anyone else. Seems like only the top benefits (as always)...

This man is in Awe and having a crisis at the same time

Gullible.

Probably

I think we have all the same feeling about this. That's open lot of questions and may be for good may be for bad. And i think that for us it's open lot of door but how much time before to be replace. So i'm like you for now i enjoy to do personal project but after 20 years in motion design and animation i don't really know if my artistic value could be economically profitable in the future.

It’s honestly no surprise, and it’s going to get infinitely better.

Jeeez! This is getting scary

I can’t believe that people still can’t believe this 😂

How much is Anthropic paying you?

lol!!!

🥸Claude is cooking hard, we just have to imagine a new world and don't fuck it up or we'll end up being cooked.

That's insane. Really encouraging and discouraging. The possibility of creation to new creators and velocity to experienced creators is exciting and unnerving.

Yeah ... I'm scared every day. Not sure what to say. It's insane. What do we do now? Somehow I'm more tired that I've ever been though too 😭

My theory is that the rapid acceleration is due in part to the MCP visibility into projects and tests people run it through. This most definitely puts the junior level jobs at high risk. I could see an ECD asking where is the eye trace? Overall though the MCP is 🤯

It would seem to me this gives you more time on iteration and the perfection of your work. Especially if you retain technical knowledge of your software?

The people who know, know how good AI has gotten. The people who are anti-AI are just living in a bubble thinking humans are still more creative. If you know you know, if you don't know your now living in a delusion.

What does it mean? Unemployment for most high skilled artists.
