What I like about a post like this is that it inspires curiosity. We need to reignite the spark of curiosity in 🇺🇸. Enjoy your break. 🙏🏻

This big boy (I call him Brutus) hangs out on my porch, every day. He showed up lame, a few months ago, with what appeared to be a completely separated left front shoulder, and inability to use that limb at all. I called the local wild animal rescue, and when they attempted to capture him, he wiggled free and fell 3 stories to the ground below!!! And later the next morning, there he was…at my door. Again. I called the wild animal rescue again, and they said as long as he wasn’t showing any open sores or signs of infection, to just see if he would heal up, since it was obvious that he was intentional about where he wanted to be. I kept vegetable scraps, the occasional chicken liver, and water for him so he wasn’t climbing up and down the building (since I’m on the third floor); and after a few weeks, I detected slight movement. Fast-forward a few months, and he can put his weight on it now, and climbs all over the place. He still very wild, but he does let me within a few feet, and I don’t give him enough food that he is forced to stay here, he still has to go forage. He spends most of his time on my porch, but he does disappear for a few days, here and there.

What I see is someone who has never lost awe for nature ❤️ God’s kingdom is an endless source of wonder. Full agreement on that, sir 😊 🙏🌏

Not one of those fake faculty-lounge environmentalists. Knows about how humans interact and influence their environment.
