✈️You have seen planes take off from a runway many times, but have you ever watched one lift straight off the water? Seaplanes use hydrodynamic lift to gain speed on the surface. As the aircraft accelerates, its floats or hull start to glide across the water instead of pushing through it. This lighter movement cuts drag and helps the plane rise onto the step, a flatter and faster position that lets it build the airspeed it needs. From there, the water acts like a smooth runway until aerodynamic lift takes over and the seaplane climbs into the sky.

In case you missed yet another gem from AIR INDIA — An Air India Express aircraft departing from Oman to Kannur mistook the runway edge lights for the lights on the centre of the runway and started to take-off from the edge of the runway on May 15, damaging multiple runway edge lights. The crew aborted the take-off only after a cockpit alert and a loud bang inside the aircraft. The accident also caused a hydraulic leak and a flat tyre, leaving the aircraft disabled and grounded.
