This is the one that'll get me cancelled 😌✨️

Clinical psychologist here: One of the many criteria I use for diagnosing both autism and adhd are people recognizing their own symptoms and bringing them up to me in conversation. AFTER that I then use diagnostic tools and test. Self perception of a disorder IS IMPORTANT (just not infallible or to be trusted blindly, as often it can also be a symptom of another underlying disorder)

thing is lack of diagnosis doesnt mesn its not there, if doctors dont do their job well u still have it

cancelled for the right reasons*

getting diagnosed did jack shit for me (diagnosed at age 6). it gave "professionals" a free pass to misstreat, experiment&willingly poison me while milking every penny from subsidies i got for being born retarded. Be careful and never blindly trust them.

Couldn't agree more, people just want the label and an excuse. My wife has struggled with generalized anxiety and panic attack disorder her whole life, shes sees a professional for it. She wouldn't survive without her medication.

a lot of people arent going to appreciate being told that their self diagnosis is invalid. oh well.

All self diagnosing does is tell you if you should see a professional to find out if you do need medical help

Awesome take! I 100% agree with you.

Self-diagnosing is more important than ever. Most doctors don’t even listen. I went in with stomach issues. They just kept throwing acid blockers at me. Then I did my own research, walked back in and told them exactly what I thought it was. They sent me to the hospital. Turned out I had a stomach ulcer. Without that research I never would’ve ended up there on the doctor’s orders. Self-diagnosing is good. What isn’t good is labeling yourself autistic or ADHD without ever letting a professional actually check you. We’re all idiots. Doctors and psychiatrists are just studied idiots. Their books are online. Almost everything is. Do your research. Then walk into that office and confront them with what you think you have, not what they assume.

I agree, but recognizing this is a blanket statement, and some people that are included may be capable and educated enough to assess themselves - second opinions never hurt. I also think that most people that are capable, don't *parade* their self diagnosis.

Calling someone out for self diagnosing isnt a cause for cancelling saying you have them without being diagnosed is the cancellable option

I'm surrounded by people who are obsessed with the idea of having autism. Seems to be a new trend for people to get away with being ignorant or because they're not "perfect" at something, they prefer to give themselves the label. They treat it like a get out of jail for free card

Lies, I was told TikTok is enough to self diagnose. /s

As someone with BPD, PTSD, SAD, and a few others I can honestly say that yes, a therapist, psychologist, or a PCP with mental health experience are key to getting DOCUMENTED mental health diagnoses. However having knowledge of what you're diagnosed with is needed too

THANK YOUUUUUUU

This applies to ANY Medical issue you could have, PLEASE seek professional help for them. Self Diagnosis might help you and the Doctor figure out what's wrong, but it's more "Narrowing" the field down than actually finding the problem. And when I say Every problem.. I mean it.

ireland!!

I agree

Actually agree with this so much, ive seen alot of people use it as an excuse. Which is also an insult to those who are diagnosed

This is the best video for me, I can stand people stepping on me.

i identify myself as a doctor and i diagnose those people with the retard syndrome but seriously people nowadays thinking they got this and that with no clear diagnose from a real doctor andjust look up things is no excuse for claiming it

ADHD POWERS ACTIVATE!!!😹😹😹😹😹😹

...no, once again Clara, you're 100% correct. You're just not sugar coating it, which is correct approach. They might think they have things, but until a doctor signs off on it, its just speculation.

I agree. How do you really know what you have unless you are diagnosed by a doctor. Especially mental health issues. Internet or chatgp don't count. Please get real help if you are dealing with mental health. You are strong person Clara for sharing your journey.

You wouldn't trust someone who doesn't know mechanics to tell you what's wrong with your car

One of these days people will wake up and realize just how frequently right you are.

1000% thank you for bringing this up
