This is the overarching problem with the Tatum/Brown Boston Celtics. Beyond clutch time efficiency and three point volume there's a macro issue that has hurt the legacy of their two cornerstones. If you can handle the honest truth about this team then this is worth your time.

“But KG was injured. Perk was out game 7”. Vs “Tatum might’ve been injured? We’ll never know”. Nothing about KP developing a viral disease, rendering him useless. The “MY Celtics (when I was a child) were so much better” argument is so adorable. Nice engagement farm though.

Your takes and analysis on this team really just aren’t very original or interesting. I would suggest trying to formulate an original thought about this team instead of parroting your successors and the ESPN/FS1 daytime shows. This rant is a big yawn, as it stands.

If they didn’t pull up from 3 every trip down the floor and just played basketball they’d probably be in the NBA Finals and might have another title

You didn’t add that Tatum was injured the first play of Game 7 vs Miami You didn’t add that Porzingis was hurt vs the Knicks, also didn’t add Tatum tearing his Achilles You also didn’t add Tatum was working his way back this year and didn’t play Game 7 vs Philly

To be fair, this year's team was pretty consistent up until Mazzulla started running offense through Tatum again. I'm not blaming Tatum but the ball stopped moving and guys roles changed. It gets magnified in the playoffs. Also Mazzulla has to emphasize being dominate at home.

If the Tatum and Brown Celtics were pushed to a game 7 by an upstart 7 seed and then lost the second round as a big favorite by blowing a 3-2 lead and getting blown out at home in game 7 you’d kill them. But I guess it’s ok for the Pierce Celtics

I still believe the 2010 Celtics were better then LA and SHOULD have won. If I remember correctly the free throw discrepancy in that game 7 was insane.

Here’s the problem though: KG, Ray, and Pierce carried teams and were seasoned leaders on their own before coming together in Boston. JT and JB have had to figure it out as copilots as they go along. I don’t disagree with what he said but that experience matters A LOT.

Ok FELGER lmfao. Are you Mike Felgers son ?? lol or Tony Mazz nephew haha. Hater classic Boston media big bad radio man that thinks he’s smarter than Brad Stevens and Joe Mazzulla haha. They have forgot more about basketball than you will ever even know about basketball haha. What do you know ? Ball goes on hoop. Yay!!!! We scored ball don’t go in hoop or these guys no good bad bad. That’s you knowledge. Did you not watch the nba finals vs the mavs haha and how we closed out games ? Or all those close games with the pacers ? That Tatum and brown both were huge in and closed out games haha from Tatum behind the back pass to brown huge 3 ball game 1 to Derrick white corner 3 ball I mean cmon bro you can’t say everytime they lose oh blah blah blah they not good in the clutch when in reality there are several times they were very good and in 2024 almost unbeatable

Realize you’re describing the cultural shift in basketball/team sports that’s taken place over the past decade more than an issue that’s specific to the Celtics.

Here’s my thing what’s duo has had the success of Tatum/Brown in the past 5 years??? Both still under 30 by the way

The team was much better without Taytum. I think they beat Philly without Taytum coming back at all. He came back and it was a 3 party again. Live and die by it

@WEEI is full of clueless retards but this guy is 10000% correct with his take. Also, we all know what the issue is - it’s the coach (during playoff time).

Tatum got injured towards the end of the losing series in 23, 25, & 26. They were in trouble before the injury, yes, but 2 things can be right at the same time. 1) They could've won if he was healthy & 2) the C's had enough talent to cover for him for 1 game (23 & 26).

The problem is Tatum plain and simple not a guy you hitch your horse up to i'd trade him before brown but they don't have the balls to

The only issue honestly is that Jaylen qualified for supermax money and is not a supermax player. The criteria to qualify should be changed, there should be a MAX of ten players that have the resume to qualify for that type of money, or supermax should count less against cap

This is what I’m talking about ! Is it generational? Is it the coach ? Because I watched all those games from 2008-2012 . That team had grit , pride . They would scratch and pull themselves out of big holes until they had nothing in the tank . This team has nothing like that .

If Jimmy Butler didn’t get injured in the play in game in 2024 this Celtics team would be viewed as the biggest choke artists in the history of sports. Chronic underachievers

Breakup Brown and Tatum & toss Mazzulla out the door because his coaching philosophy is shit. Letting his players twist on the vine as a “learning experience” isn’t the right way to coach. Maybe he should learn to call time outs to settle the team & tell then no more hero ball

you cant compare these 2 eras anymore. the Second Apron and Repeater tax and loss of 1st rd draft pick destroy all super teams. the NBA moved to one and dones and diversity.
