In 1945-47 period, there were 25% muslims in British India and 75% non-muslims ( 70% plus Hindus ). Largely, 75% opposed partition, 25% muslims demanded partition along islamic lines. Congress as part of its effort to keep India united and sell "secularism" to muslims and placate, appease the implacable , seperatist, supmacist muslims, who had declared total support to Jinnah's ideology that Muslims cannot live with Hindus in a Hindu majority state and can live with Hindus, only as masters, had elected a Maulana Azad, a muslim cleric, as its president. So leading into partition, 1940-46, the president of Indian National Congress and Muslims League, were both Muslims. Imagine how much prestige the common Hindus were willing to give up, to placate, appease and satify the insatiable muslims, to keep India united. How total was rejection of "secularism" of Nehru, Gandhi, Bose , Maulana by muslims of India in 1945-47 ?? Example, in the 118 muslims seats in Bengal in the 1945 provincial elections, Congress fielded 118 muslim candidates and Muslim League fielded 118 muslims. ZERO Congress muslim candidates won. ZERO. Jinah's muslim candidates won 113 of 118 and 5 by others/independent muslim candidates. The picture was even worse in Bombay and Madras, were muslim league won all muslim seats defeating muslim candidates of Congress. The question is , if Gandhi, Nehu, Bose, Maulana could not sell and appease the islamic communal, supremacist, seperatist monster , why does the non-muslim community and political parties in India, persist in the charade ?? Why have they not learnt the lessons of bloody partition and listened to both Jinnah and Ambedkar, both lawyers, who clearly articulated that total seperation of Muslims and Non-Muslims is the ONLY rational path to peace in India ? Why is India walking into another bloody partition ? Secularism only works, and works beautifully, if all the religions have mutual respect. It works almost perfectly between Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Jains, Parsis, Jews and any other who are not declaring that their religion is the only truth and other faiths false and declaring the converting all others to their faith, is the mission of that religion. Has islam changed since 1947 or is it as implacable and hardened even more ? In absence of that, practicing secularism towards a supremacist, expansionist cult, will only pave the path for the cult/religion to over-power and take over and bury secularism for ever. Has happened from Arabia to Bangladesh, with rare/no exception. India and Europe are walking into the trap again, ignoring the lessons of history. Doing same thing again and again, expecting different results, is definition of stupidity. A beautiful garden of diverse flowers only survives if there is no invasive, expansionist weed or else try control the uncontrollable weed or perish.
