Come context cause there seems to be some misconceptions about OCD. It can present in different ways but at its core it’s unwanted thoughts (obsessions) that are remedied by acting out certain actions (compulsions)

Bonnie Kelly has anxiety and the intrusive thought that something bad will happen to Charlie. She developed the compulsion of doing things in threes. This ritual gives her a sense of control and relief, thinking that action will protect Charlie.

I don't know, there is no signs of anxiety intrinsically related to the compulsive behaviour. One of the misconceptions related to OCD is that those affected don't mind or even enjoy their obsessions/compulsions, and unfortunately this scene doesn't combat this notion

I have this exact compulsion, and I wish I were joking. I have to do everything in threes, or six.

I mean this is more the cartoonish stereotype but sure. I feel the apple bit is more realistic to the absurdity. It’s not always so “if I do x then no on will die” it’s mostly just absurd things you feel compelled to do without much rhyme, reason, or explanation
