Being outspoken about your existence is not easy, it takes a toll that most people never see. These past few days have shown just how normalized hate has become, and how quickly strangers feel entitled to strip others of their humanity. The hate I’ve received is not normal, it is not harmless. It is the direct result of a political climate that has made it acceptable to dehumanize transgender people. I’m sharing this because this is what so many of us live with - the comments, the threats, the relentless dehumanization. I’m sharing not for sympathy or attention, but to because this goes far beyond me, this is the everyday reality for transgender and gender-diverse people.

Let’s not sugarcoat this. The Almajiri system is a problem, yes. Northern elders have weaponized poverty for far too long. But Peter Obi flying to Indonesia and calling Nigerian Muslims beggars? Come on. That is not criticism. That is an insult, an open, global-level embarrassment. Every Nigerian feels this one. Imagine the Indonesian president thinking, “Ah, these Nigerian Muslims are beggars,” all because one desperate man opened his mouth. That is peak foolishness. Peter Obi is desperate, and desperation makes you reckless. It makes you throw your own country under the bus while trying to score political points. This is not leadership. This is drama, shame, and pure nonsense packaged as “honesty.”
