Today was very special for Bryan and I to stand tall with and for the People of Iran. Thank you to Darya Safai for inviting me and allowing us to pray together for the tens of thousands of Iranians murdered by this “sick” regime, as President Trump has said of them. As US Ambassador to Belgium, the USA supports the will of the Iranian people for a better future. While we have interacted with many external opposition figures, we want to be clear that, as The President has said, the U.S. does specifically not endorse Reza Pahlavi or any specific opposition leader. Rather, we wholeheartedly support the will of the Iranian people in Iran for a better future for them and their families. I met three mothers whose sons were killed by the regime for simply walking in the streets holding candles for peace. We took a moment of silence for all those who have been killed.
