It's perfect on so many levels. Saul is mainly interested in producing results for himself and his clients. The law is just a tool to get the results, and he's rarely thinking about the long term consequences of sloppy legal work. Charles is the best at what he does but would rather delight himself upholding arbitrary legal minutiae even if it means the case is lost. I can easily imagine him wrapped in a foil sheet that says "spaces over tabs" or "emacs > vim". Think how formidable they'd be if they embraced the other's approach and worked side by side.
