its insane. think if he was on a team like the Lakers or Knicks the media would overwhelmingly be talking about him as a star in the making. but since he is on a bad team theres a lot of negative press. a 19 year old with this offense right away should be nothing but intriguing.

His game reminds me a lot of a modern day Kemba Walker with shades of Trae Young. If he becomes more efficient i think he has the highest ceiling out of the entire 2026 Draft Class, he has plenty of time!

an underrated portion of his hate comes from Nets and Clippers fans trying to rationalize their pick by saying no matter what he does, there’s an asterisk to it. Specifically Nets fans. Their fanbase got into an internal debate about the draft and half of them hate Acuff for it

This vid is a general pro-Acuff take, but the shots you describe as "wild" are not true outside of game 1. His shots are now mostly off Center screens, attacking mismatches, and in transition. Not a chucker at all. Typical score first PG stuff we see from the whole league.

It’s about two main things. 1. His shot needs to be more efficient which will come with reps. 2. Since he was given the green light he also needs guidance from developing the bad tendencies in order to playing winning basketball. If not he’ll just be another Bradely Beal

Did you see the Dame interview where he talks about him after the blazer king game. He mentioned that finishing at the rim is one of the last things undersized guards learn because of the physicality under the rim. I thought that was a cool perspective
