Saying that tax credits won’t incentivize people seems wrong to me. In CA, what good is A $1500 tax credit available to people making less than $35k? We should have larger tax credits to fully offset the marginal cost per child.

40, 5 kids with #6 on the way, married for 18 years, sole provider. Wife has been SAHM since she graduated for college. It’s doable. But you have to prioritize and work hard. Was a decade before we got to travel outside the state. Our clothes come from Costco. Modest cars. All of our siblings got to splurge more.

Its a joke. I have a 30's couple in my family and together they pull in 200k if not over by a couple 10k. They won't have kids. They'll travel and they own their home. They're terrified they won't have enough to have even one child. It's incredibly ridiculous. We had four kids and owned a home with one income at 28k. That was at the beginning of our life. Two of those kids were from a prior marriage of his, so was paying out child support as well. Idk why people think its so impossible now. Is the threat of perfection going to wipe us out?
