Here is a wedding cake decorator giving her story about a recent wedding that she made a cake for. She brought the cake in as instructed and watched as the groom took his bride’s face and aggressively jammed it right into the cake to the point that the whole top of the cake flew off. The bride was obviously not expecting that, she was very upset, and she wound up going into the bridal root crying.. I’m all for having a good time at a wedding, and I also think that I have a pretty good sense of humor. However, this is not a good look for this husband, and in my humble opinion I think she made a mistake marrying this guy.. all kinds of red flags are going up for me listening to this.

One thing I’m happy about is being in a generation where if someone cheats, you go. You leave. You rebuild. You move on. And you can tell from the way she’s speaking that she’s already emotionally moving forward. Yes, it’s still fresh, yes it probably still hurts, but look at her … she looks good, she sounds grounded, she’s got her own place, and at 29 she’s ready to start over if she has to.

I do not understand this fantasy of making someone constantly happy. You are a grown woman. Your emotional state is your responsibility. If you need a handler to regulate your happiness, then that is your weakness, not his failure. Every time I hear the word “provider” thrown at a man, I ask the obvious question: Provide what exactly, and how much is enough? A roof? Money? Attention? Validation? Endless reassurance?
