Russian Su-34s targeted the village of Bahatyr, Donetsk Oblast with 11 FAB-500 glide-bombs, one after another. Forward Russian units have reached the outskirts of Bahatyr, as the village is subjected to daily glide-bomb, MLRS, artillery and drone strikes on a level rarely seen for a settlement of its size.

Ukrainian developer “Medoed” claims the bomb can currently glide up to 60 km, with plans to reach 80 km in the future—depending on altitude and tactics. Ukraine reportedly needs 100 guided bombs daily, but Western-supplied JDAM-ERs, AASM Hammers, and SDBs don’t fully meet demand.

One year ago today, Ukraine withdrew from the ruins the village of Krynky after nearly a year of fighting on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River. Over 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers were confirmed to have been killed - many of which were marines - in a suicide operation doomed to fail. FAB glide-bombs, artillery, and drones pounded Ukrainian positions in the ruins all day every day, yet the Ukrainian command continued to funnel more and more soldiers in - many of which were killed while crossing the river. This battle is hardly talked about today, but I truly hope it will go down in history as one of the most reckless and incompetent decisions ever made in modern military history.

There are reports that many more performances are being planned. One of them allegedly involves covering the Russian pavilion in feces using sewage trucks. The intensity of the reaction to the "Russian world," which kills Ukrainians in their cities every day, is entirely predictable. Today is the 1,500th day since Russia launched its full-scale war against Ukraine. What Moscow expected to be a quick victory has turned into a long and costly failure. Instead of achieving its goals, Russia has only deepened its losses and isolation. The world has seen what Russia truly is: a terrorist state. The only answer to this is unity, sustained pressure, and continued defence support for Ukraine.

US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker (my two cents) below): I think the Russian threat sometimes is a little overstated. They have not had a lot of success. And to your point, Ukraine has actually taken back territory. To me, that points to a weakness in Russia, and as their economy continues to falter, I think their continuation of this war is going to be difficult. My input: Russia has not had a lot of success in Ukraine because Ukrainian Defenders make a tremendous effort, and the West supplies Ukraine with weapons. Yes, Ukraine has retaken our territories, but this is first and foremost a compliment to Ukrainian skill. Russia does not play by the rules, Putin knows that his power relies on Russia waging a war, and Russia does not care about its people. NATO has named Russia as its most significant threat, and Russia remains one.
