I never got very high while flying in my dreams. It was more like floating a couple of feet off the ground usually supported by a large piece of cardboard. Not sure why cardboard was my magic carpet.

I've flown in my dreams several times. It truly is amazing how much detail the brain can render at that speed. This video is not far off.
