A couple of problems; Fauci wasn't his brother's doctor, Fauci in 1989 said AZT was the only medication at that time, in 1995 Fauci and NIAID advised reassessment of AZT in favour of combination antiretroviral therapy (ART). There was a tragic overuse by a number of doctors in a culture that wants a pill for every aliment, it didn't kill more than the disease, but every passing is tragic.
