I have a friend of mine who was pregnant with her second child and her husband left. She was working and they were starving and she went to get benefits in New York. She said I only need a little bit of help for a little while to get through the holiday. Hundred dollars a week would help they said that you’re working she said yes but it’s not enough right now can you help me out and they said you have to quit your job to get benefits. She only needed a little bit of extra money for a short period of time.

Shocking that federally funded benefits shouldn’t go to people who have the capacity to actually work. Truly shocking.
