I had a good meeting with the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen Statsministeriet. We discussed the continuation of military support and direct investments in Ukraine’s defense industry. Denmark is one of the leaders in supporting our state and is preparing the 26th package of military aid for Ukraine. This support helps save lives, and we deeply appreciate it. We also talked about the negotiations in Istanbul and the coordination of diplomatic efforts with the U.S. and European partners. We share the view that pressure on Russia is crucial if they refuse to agree to a ceasefire. In July this year, Denmark will begin its Presidency of the EU Council. We are counting on their support for Ukraine’s European integration, which we discussed during the meeting. I thank the Government and all the people of Denmark for every form of assistance to our state and for their unwavering support of our people.

Horrendous. Heartbreaking news from Amsterdam. Is this what we have become? Modern day pogrom as we are remembering Kristallnacht. I am in Texas and it is middle of the night here as I write. Friends from Europe are texting and calling me about the horrendous situation in Amsterdam. In the night of November 7 in Amsterdam there were widespread and terrible raids on Jewish people. After the soccer game Ajax-Maccabi Tel Aviv, large groups of radical moslims violently attacked Jews, injured them, ran over them with cars… 💔 How is this possible? Why did it take the police so long to get there ? Even on European soil we fail to protect human dignity. Is this what we have become ? It's just terrible! Revolting! Imagine you are Jewish. And you know this: as soon as you walk out of your house to go running, go grocery shopping, go to school or to the synagogue, this can happen to you. How would you feel? I spoke about this situation of terrible discriminations this week in parliament. Worrying about antisemitism is not an exaggeration. Fighting it is our responsibility. The Dutch local government has failed. My thoughts are with the victims. I am furious with the Dutch local government. This is what we have become. Because we have forgotten that this violence is still possible if we are not honest, vigilant and decisive. If people who live in Europe are capable of this horrible attacks, it says a lot about how europe failed to impose its values even on its own soil. And there are still people who will think speaking of hatred against jewish people is an exaggeration. It is not. This is the week of the Kristallnacht commemorations. October 7 was until now the Kristallnacht of our time. November 7 must be the last one. Assita Kanko

Today, we are working in Denmark at the European Political Community Summit. I began our work by meeting with Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen Statsministeriet. The recent incursions into the airspace of Denmark, Poland, Romania, Norway, and Estonia were a key focus. Russia is escalating, and we discussed how we can respond to these threats. We have repeatedly proposed creating a joint, integrated air defense system. The expertise of Ukrainian professionals and Ukrainian technologies must become an important part of the EU’s Drone Wall initiative. Right now, a strong group of Ukrainian servicemembers is in Denmark, helping Danish colleagues. We also discussed the implementation of the PURL initiative and Denmark’s further participation in this program. We value Denmark’s contribution of €90 million. I am grateful to Denmark for a military aid package of more than €360 million to support Ukrainian production under the Danish model. I thank Prime Minister Frederiksen and the people of Denmark for their strong support. 🇺🇦 🇩🇰

I know some people think these tiny homes are the future, but I honestly think it’s pathetic. I’ve seen backyard sheds that are bigger than this. Somewhere along the way we started convincing ourselves that paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for what looks like a storage unit is normal. Is this really the direction we want housing to go?

I met with His Beatitude Georgios, Archbishop of Nova Justiniana and All Cyprus, Primate of the Church of Cyprus. I informed him about our efforts to achieve peace. For Ukraine and our people now, during the war, humanitarian support is crucial, including medical and food assistance, as well as resources for the restoration of religious sites. I called on the Primate of the Church of Cyprus to support us in these areas. I am grateful for every expression of support for our people.
