Yesterday in the Legislature I asked the minister a very simple question. If the government is spending millions of taxpayer dollars on reconciliation, then the public deserves to know one thing: what does success look like? What is reconciliation, and when do we know we’ve achieved it? The minister couldn’t answer Instead, we were told reconciliation is a “journey.” There is no finish line. No measurable goal. No clear definition. That should concern every British Columbian. Government programs must have accountability. They must have measurable outcomes. If there is no way to define success, then there is no way to measure whether the government is actually achieving anything. Reconciliation matters. Bringing people together matters. But the public deserves clarity about what government is trying to accomplish, how it will get there, and how we will know when we have succeeded. Without that transparency, reconciliation risks becoming an open-ended policy with no accountability to the people of British Columbia. When will everyone be equal under one nation one flag? #cdnpoli #bcpoli
