This is what native feels like. No Electron. No Python runtime. Just Swift on Apple Silicon.

@DinokiLabs Looks neat

Thanks Hugo! ❤️

@DinokiLabs native apps are just so goated

@DinokiLabs It’s so smooth

@DinokiLabs Cool, does gemma 3n already work with vision in swift mlx?

@xlab_os Not yet, gemma 3n only works with text

@DinokiLabs neatly done, they call it native for a reason

Thank you!

@DinokiLabs Yeah but does it have any features that make it different to the 100 other options? This is prettier but from experience I know that aint enough.

What features would you like to see? Here's some features that I like: - native plugins registry (inspired by homebrew!) - custom themes (create your own, inspired by winamp) - API router (output formats to OpenAI/Ollama/Anthropic API) - 10MB binary size - free & open source

@DinokiLabs looks very smooth

Thank you! Give it a try (it's free & open source) and let me know if you have any feedback

@DinokiLabs Yeah, I just installed it. I tried opening it from raycast after installation but no luck. Running osaurus ui from the terminal works okay.

Interesting. I will look into that. Haven't tested with Raycast as much

@DinokiLabs it should be similar to spotlight's launcher. I tried to use the application menu but no luck either. I will try again after a restart

Did you install it using brew?

@DinokiLabs yeah, brew. false alarm, the ui doesn't show up but I see it in my menu bar. all good.

@DinokiLabs this looks sooo smooth

you guys should collaborate @argenistherose @zeroclawlabs

@DinokiLabs Microsoft needs to learn from this

@DinokiLabs This is really cool!

Thank you! Let me know if you have any feature requests 🥰

@DinokiLabs yet to try it out! bookmarked, will install on my Mac in a bit!

@DinokiLabs Tbh I'm missing those 3 dots to make it feel truly native... Still, the interface looks amazing and I'm gonna try it today!

@DinokiLabs Love that the default port is 1337 😏

@DinokiLabs smooooth

@DinokiLabs You know things are crazy when electron apps are faster and silkier than native apps 😿

@DinokiLabs Swift on Apple Silicon = smooth

@DinokiLabs Looks really nice I do love native but the issue with me is the learning curve and the experience needed to build something

clean

@DinokiLabs oh damn, looks clean

@DinokiLabs Looks really good!

@DinokiLabs 2026 year of native apps?

@DinokiLabs I have experimented with electron myself Swift on silicon is amazing , wish I have the opportunity to buy a Mac in future ! TBH:)Great work though!

@DinokiLabs Beautiful.

@DinokiLabs swift is one of the best things in llm era

@DinokiLabs What theme is that?

Nord theme😁

@DinokiLabs Thank you! Can i pick your brain a sec? I enabled all of the available tools, i'm trying to take a screenshot and save to disk. Foundation models works all the way to save to disk, then fails. If i use other models or ML Studio, it doesnt use the tools. Am i doing somethin wrong?

@DinokiLabs Fantastic native app, i'm so far in love! This + ML Studio + Mac Studio home server is going to be a slick setup.

@DinokiLabs This sorta reminds me of Bavarder. Not really an AI chatbot person myself, but that comes to mind as a GNOME equivalent to this. Let's build more native apps!

@DinokiLabs Neat! Does this support something similar to the "Connect with Xcode" feature that the ChatGPT app has (where it can read open files from my IDEs)?

Not yet, but can be built if that's something you want

@DinokiLabs Well, I don’t use that feature terribly often ever since discovering the agent mode in Copilot, but it does come in handy when I want to give the AI access to code from different code bases at the same time.

Ya, osaurus can have accessibility features so should be possible to add something like that.

@DinokiLabs I think you need to add support for table markdown rendering

Coming soon!

@galpratama your December request has been excavated from the fossil record and resolved! Tables are now rendered beautifully in Osaurus. Thanks for your jurassic level patience

Lol I almost fogot this. Will revisit this 😭🏃

@DinokiLabs Software so good that it needs social media influencers trying to convince people to use it 24/7.

So you guys are like Ollama but smaller, but like MLX style ?(iOs native) Correct me if I'm wrong please . Im running Qwen3.5-9B 6Bits ,4Bits and Qwen2.5 Coder -1.5B locally on my M5 What are the advantages here ? I'm a avid Openclaw user and I prefer local LLMs looks cool .

You can use OpenClaw with Osaurus. It’s universally compatible

I forked before you responded lmao , just read the Github very impressed !

@DinokiLabs Looks great ! Does it support xAI API ?

@DinokiLabs I’ve been thinking about native since android can run swift. There might be an incentive to drop react native.

@DinokiLabs AMAZING!

@DinokiLabs wow looks great 👍 . How does the resource usage look like?
