It represents the futility of the human existence The candle represents the hope and prayer for those struggling and trying to push forward, However we are still just being dragged around by our feelings and fear. I just made that up. I did go to art school though.

A guy walks through a brand new Lennar home with all the carpet pulled up, exposing cheap subfloor full of gaps, sloppy glue patches, and spots where they missed the joists making the floor soft. This is what passes for new construction these days. Makes you realize buying a solid home built in the 80s is way better than dealing with this kind of modern garbage.
