👤 seeing you all here brings back a lot of old memories. first of all i have such a deep sense of gratitude towards mamamoo, that thankfulness is just so big. when you first debuted, not long after, i remember you came to greet me and you appeared on immortal songs at that time. what i still remember is (announcing) "here is mamamoo" but since you had just debuted ppl didnt really know. Oh I'm SO happy - just look at darling Theo!😍 Not only has his gait improved so well that he's barely limping (both rear feet were degloved, but it was the left foot which was down to the bone and severely infected), last night he did something I've been hoping and praying to see - nestbuilding. Six days ago, after 5 long weeks of treatment, I gave his last injection and put him in the large rehab pen, so he could build up his muscle tone. He's been pottering around, quite happily, but I was overjoyed to see him finally start to nest build last night. This is so important and miraculous because, firstly, he feels well enough to hibernate. That's huge! Secondly, he's quite content to build a hibernaculum and hibernate here, which is a massive relief to me as it means his newly-skinned feet will have a chance to toughen up and complete healing before he's back out in the wild.

I spoke with a Canadian citizen who immigrated from Chile as a little boy. He told me he has been a Class 1 truck driver for 35 years. But when he tried to get work in Vancouver, he said he could not get hired because, in his words, companies were only hiring immigrants from India. That is a serious problem. I told him I had heard something similar from a man from Somalia, who openly told me he went to a Somali-run driving school, got his licence, and was sent long-haul trucking into the United States the very next day. As someone with a Class 1 licence myself, that is shocking. Normally, after school, you ride with an experienced driver before going out on your own. Sometimes for months. That is because you are driving a massive machine that can kill people if you do not know what you are doing. This is not about race. It is about safety, fairness, and whether Canada is enforcing its own rules. It is illegal to hire based on race. It is dangerous to cut corners in commercial trucking. And it is deeply unfair when experienced drivers are pushed out while ethnic hiring networks protect their own. But when he tried to get work in Vancouver, he said he could not get hired because, in his words, companies were only hiring immigrants from India. That is a serious problem. I told him I had heard something similar from a man from Somalia, who openly told me he went to a Somali-run driving school, got his licence, and was sent long-haul trucking into the United States the very next day. As someone with a Class 1 licence myself, that is shocking. Normally, after school, you ride with an experienced driver before going out on your own. Sometimes for months. That is because you are driving a massive machine that can kill people if you do not know what you are doing. This is not about race. It is about safety, fairness, and whether Canada is enforcing its own rules. It is illegal to hire based on race. It is dangerous to cut corners in commercial trucking. And it is deeply unfair when experienced drivers are pushed out while ethnic hiring networks protect their own. So much to love about Garrison Rippa game winning field goal last night for Jacksonville State! He had never attempted a field goal or extra point in college. It was Jacksonville State’s first bowl win ever in their first year as an FBS program. BUT… What stood out the most to me was his pre-kick routine: - Breathwork to control his emotions and lock in on the present-moment. Many athletes take their breath for granted, but the best of the best utilize the power of it. - Feeding his mind powerful thoughts with his self-talk. He kept telling himself over and over “you were built for moments like this.” If players don’t take control of their self-talk in moments like this a lot of times they’ll start to think about what they DON’T WANT TO HAPPEN such as “don’t miss it!”, rather than what they DO WANT TO HAPPEN such as “I’m nailing this!” I don’t know what his final thought was right before the kick but I’m sure it was super powerful and positive. As Derek Jeter says, “The last thing you think is the first thing you do.” Quote from Rippa after the game: “There's a picture of me on ESPN with my head against the wall just like I was just breathing,” Rippa said. “I was just trying to tell myself, you know you prepared for this. All the hours outside of practice, all the hours in practice, been doing a lot. My teammates, they put me in a position to win, and I made it happen.
