Apple put a nano-texture layer on the iPhone Duo, but I don’t think it was the right move. Yes, it’s effective for hiding the crease. But as someone who’s used several folding phones, I know that crease is NOT as big an issue as people make it to be. It’s hardly noticeable once you use your fold for more than a few days. However, the lack of contrast is a much bigger dealbreaker on nano-texture/matte displays. I don’t like matte screens at all. To the point I’d even trade my monitor’s matte screen for a glossy one, even tho it would mean dramatically more reflections. I’d take the reflections over the lack of contrast. A matte screen is like turning your OLED into an IPS for no reason.
