A bunch of hackathons are on-going or starting! Right now, Solana Students Africa is going strong, right after it Colosseum will kick into full gear and we are doing a Solana Student Hackathon right after it! (link bellow 👇👇) 3⃣ Learning opportunities are plentiful! Solanaturbine and Rektoff will kick off new cohorts really soon. On top of that, self paced learning is blooming in and Undead 🧟‍♂️ 🦀. Superteams are also hard at work creating offerings including a full 30 hours course by Superteam Kazakhstan 4⃣ Our open source curriculum is getting adopted more and more! On top of that we are creating shorter material to help teach Solana at universities blockchain clubs and even high schools. NEW: Joe Lonsdale on Squawk Box blasts AI safetyism, calls for one national standard. "You have states trying to ban AI in healthcare that are going to prevent us from making health care cheaper... That safetyism is what Europe does. If you want to be a poor civilization...then you should move to Europe. But America needs to stay free." Joe Lonsdale: This has been an issue we're working on all year, obviously close friends with David Sacks and Director Michael Kratsios running this in the administration. And listen, we are on the verge of something amazing for our civilization. We have tens of thousands of builders in our country. They're going to bring down the cost of health care. They're going to make houses cheaper. Permits should only take hours instead of months. Just like education is going to be better for all of our kids and personalized. They're going to fix our civilization. And yet on both the far left and the far right, you have a lot of populists who for, for really nefarious reasons, are opposing this. There are reasonable people, by the way, who have some concerns, and there's ways to compromise... But you have a lot of crazy populists. You have a patchwork of just really intense stuff they're doing that would break all of this, and we can't let that happen. Andrew Ross Sorkin: And to you, the thing that you can't break is this idea of states taking this into their own hands? Joe: I'm a federalist, Andrew, on most issues. I have teams in 23 states with Cicero Institute... I think it's reasonable for states to do a lot of things as laboratories of democracy... What's unreasonable is you had Biden NGOs, but pushed by the last administration. You have European-like rules, and you have populists trying to put in crazy new regulatory authorities that demonize the builders to demonize the tech. And if you force us to hop through regulatory agencies in every state, China is going to win and the builders are going to lose. ...there's always an argument in our country between safety and liberty. And I think people, especially if they're not in the details, are right to be concerned and want to be safe. Alright, now it’s time for us to get back to the story. I wanna share my personal experience trading memecoins (and some utility plays) on Solana over the past 1 year and 4 months. Before that, I was pretty active on Ethereum since around 2020. So what made me switch to Solana ? It started when someone from my private group pointed out the potential of Solana, the speed, the low fees, and how early the ecosystem still felt at the time. Funny thing is, I actually heard about Solana when it was already at $80, but I didn’t really touch it until it hit around $100, and I started with 20 SOL as capital. It was sometime around February 2024 (don’t remember the exact date), when I first tried trading memecoins on Solana. Back then, wasn’t even popping yet, most devs were still launching manually. No fancy bots, no real token scanners, just pure risk. ( Correct me if I’m wrong about when first launched. ) Honestly, in the beginning, it was tough. New tokens popping up every second, rugs left and right, Solana was in hype mode, and everyone wanted to launch something. But by April, things started to click. I was finally making profits trading Solana coins, memecoins, lowcap utilities, all that. If I compare it to now, I’d say it was way easier back then to catch early entries. Not even exaggerating, 100x plays were way more common. TLDR; Fund state legislative races. Y’all, I love my party. I really do. So I am going to hold their hands when I say this. YOU ARE STILL DOING IT WRONG!!! While we are over here writing strongly worded letters and bleeding resources into picking up a US House seat here and there, Republicans broke the code decades ago. Who draws the maps? STATE LEGISLATURES!!! The GOP has been operating not so quietly in their quest to completely dominate state legislatures with the ultimate goal of gaining permanent control over the federal chambers. AND DEMOCRATS HAVE JUST LET THEM! I was on a strategy call earlier today and people are still moving like 2030 is the goal, and it’s cool if we grab a few seats this year towards a 2030 flip. That was a great strategy until the SCOTUS decision. Texas Republicans are already openly salivating at the idea of redistricting AGAIN in 2027 based on the VRA ruling. And not just federal house races - the state legislature as well. (Caps for emphasis) WE WILL NOT HAVE 2030 if we don’t take the Texas House NOW! There are so many strong candidates in a state environment that is the most favorable for Democrats in a generation and all Texas dollars are going to Talarico. Y’all, I love JT, but the DNC has GOT to focus! We’re over here holding our hats out hoping some pennies fall in and several of us are running in districts where the ONLY element missing is funding.
