Shocking! The DA-run City of Cape Town has just joined forces with the EFF and ANC to throw Cape Independence Party leader, Jack Miller out of Council. Councillor Miller was busy giving a speech about an issue in Cape Town in which low cost housing was being built. He told the Council how he had received a number of complaints from the local community about how economic migrants were coming in from the Eastern Cape and being given these houses over and above local Cape Town residents. For sharing this truth, the EFF and ANC began shouting and demanded that Cllr Miller be removed from the Chambers as they toytoyed and banged on the tables. The DA Speaker Felicity Purchase then demanded that Cllr Miller apologise for using the word "migrants", or else he would be thrown out. Proud of this one!! Cllr Cllr Nicola Parker has been working tirelessly to try and get the issue of the old car in the Lagan resolved. So when the Community Search & Rescue offered to help out with removal, she jumped at the chance and co-ordinated with the Council to try and get this attempt organised. Today, the Community Search & Rescue team were able to do a partial removal and will be back to have another go. With the age of the car, overall removal was challenging, but Cllr Parker was able to provide some support in coordinating the Parks and Amenities team to help clean up afterwards. A massive thank you to the everyone for their time and willingness to help today, from Search & Rescue to Council, and to Cllr Parker hopefully this is the start of getting the Lagan cleaned up properly! 💛 Proud of our Team in Lagan Valley Alliance- we just get on with it and get the jobs done! #delivery

🎉 MOSBOROUGH - WE DID IT! 🩵 I’m so incredibly proud to announce that last Thursday, 2,114 residents across Mosborough, Halfway, Westfield and Waterthorpe elected me to serve as their Sheffield City Councillor. I’d like to start by thanking Gail Smith for her 14 years of hard work for the area. The number of people I spoke to on the doors who told me of her good work over those year really impressed me and drove me even harder to put all I could into my campaign. Feeling like it would be a tight result, I took 2 weeks off work unpaid and spent every day knocking on over 4,000 doors across the ward, asking residents to share their concerns. This was a truly mammoth task which wouldn’t have been possible without my helpers Alan Shaw, David, Dave, Martin, my mum, my dad, Jane, Cllr Richard Smith, Councillor Joss Barnes, Cllr Mark Foster, Cllr Cllr Matt Smith - Reform UK - Park & Arbourthorne for Park & Arbourthorne, Andy Grafton who stood for Broomhill, Shivan, Karen, Cllr Yvonne Sykes who won Southey Ward, John from Ecclesall and Stuart Wallace who alongside Laurence Hayward was elected to represent my neighbouring ward of Beighton. Then there’s more who can’t be named for work reasons. Us 12 new Sheffield City Councillors have our induction sessions at the town hall this Thursday and Friday. From then, residents will be able to contact us via our council email addresses and phone numbers which will be available on the council’s website and which will be at the top of my page, for residents to easily get in contact with me about any local issues. We’ll soon be electing our group leader, deputy leader and local party whip, so watch out for those being announced in the next week! Much more about my priorities for the ward and our group’s larger priorities for city will be posted about in the near future. As I said on the doorstep, in local government whilst there’s a long list of things a Councillor can push for, without majority control and without much ability to spend or borrow, your hands are largely tied. But I did promise to be easily contactable, present in the area and to organise regular clean-ups (cleaning street signs, litter picking and much more) in the community, to help restore pride in the area. 🚨Yoh I'm tired of defending nonsense shem🚨 Just to give everyone a bit of a background on this random post. my first time voting was in 2014 aged 22. so EFF was brand new and the only party speaking to my views. 2016 LGE I volunteered to represent in my ward to give EFF presence as it was our first (Ward 90 Joburg municipality, same ward where Julius lives - covers Hyde Park, Sandhurst, Hurlingham, Craighall and Dunkeld, under DA. My family home is in Sandhurst. During the door he to door campaigning I can easily tell you that almost all the houses in this ward, too the domestic staff are either Veal Zimbabwean or Malawian. some of the houses in Sandhurst alone usually have 2-6 staff each. Few South africans I encountered. so this notion that thev're not here to take jobs is a lie. I don't blame them tho, the DA constituents of this ward are the ones seeing it fit to over look South Africans and employ foreign nationals so there's that er so sometimes blame for this mess happening should be directed at your fellow "rainbow nation" members.

He has even put a #StopNonsense poster on his gate. For over 8 years, he says he has been without work despite dedicating his life to the ANC. Today, he has chosen a different path because he believes ActionSA is the only viable alternative ready to rescue Joburg and put South Africans first. For ten days the African National Congress has been the subject of reporting about the lodgement of its candidates for the local government elections of 4 November. Some of that reporting has been accurate. Some of it has not. Much of it has been about people rather than about facts. The people of South Africa are entitled to a full account from the ANC itself, in its own voice, and that is what I have come to give this morning. I must say one thing at the outset so that nobody is misled by what follows. On Friday 4 September the ANC filed an application in the Electoral Court. The matter is therefore before a court. I am going to give you the facts, the sequence of events, and the position of the ANC. I am not going to argue the case from this podium. Where a question touches on the merits of what the Court has to decide, I will say so and I will stop there. That is not evasion. It is respect for the Court, and I ask you to hold me to it. The learned people say the matter is sub judice. The African National Congress lodged nine thousand one hundred and twenty-eight candidates for this election, through all nine provinces. Of those, four thousand three hundred and sixty-sixstand registered with the Electoral Commission on the ward ballot this morning, and four thousand five hundred and eighty-one on the proportional ballot. That is eight thousand nine hundred and forty-seven candidates. It is ninety-seven per cent of every ward seat in the Republic, and ninety per cent of every proportional seat. No other party in this country will come to you with that figure, and I give it to you first because it is the frame in which everything else must be read. Now the other half, in the same breath. One hundred and eighty-oneof our candidates were received by the Commission’s system on 28 August and did not complete its final electronic step. One hundred and thirty of them on the proportional ballot and fifty-one on the ward ballot. Two in every hundred.
