We recently saw a BLO in Rajasthan threatening to take his life outside the DM office because he was being pressured by a BJP MLA to delete the names of 470 Muslim voters. In Kerala as well, the ECI deleted lakhs of voters without disclosing their names. The UDF had to approach the Supreme Court, and only after the Court’s intervention did the Election Commission agree to reveal the deleted names. Today, the ECI and the ED are acting like two arms of the BJP. In the BMC elections, the Congress party chose to fight alone. Our performance is not good, but we are rebuilding and strengthening our organisation for the future.
