At the VA they have to justify every move they make. She legally can’t give him aspirin without justifying it somehow. So despite his treatment of her she’s remaining objective and trying to find a way to give him what he wants, but can’t. I go to the VA myself.

This patient has two options. Agree to the treatment plan or sign out AMA. The hospital is not a hotel and you’re not granted just any med you want. If it’s okay to give, the so be it. If they need an ECG, he is showing problems. Shut that crap down.

As a doctor, this interaction is bad because something already happened that has broken trust. It may have nothing to do with the clinician in the room. I don't think this is a nurse btw. If he is denying an EKG, then so be it. If no contraindication, give him aspirin.
