I respect your interpretation. But I'd argue that cuddling in private isnt romantic. Intimate, sure, but romantic — it doesn't have to be. One-on-one cuddles can be platonic, it just depends on the type of person youre doing it with, and how intimate you are making the cuddles.

I feel very similar, but a lot of people, mostly furries, will give you shit for having this kind of mindset. I’d just rather keep cuddling for that special person. If I’m cuddling friends, it takes away from the specialness of cuddling with a partner too

I’ve always thought of cuddling as a close, personal thing. Holding onto someone for hours, while yall are both enjoying each other’s presence, it has the same weight whether you do it romantically or in a relationship. Cuddling doesn’t really do much for myself unless it’s someone I care about and am close with, so it can be very draining when someone comes to you talking about “being led on” when you tell them you’re not looking to start anything with them

This is how normal people operate. Unfortunately furries are far from that. And then you add VRC on top of that an even more boundaries get normalized (because hurr hurr online I can walk around naked and do what I want) and it becomes a recipe for disaster.
