This is why I've ultimately never been bothered with the neck snap Hard call was made and Superman immediately felt pain/sadness, it's heartbreaking Exploring his trauma and how he would never want to kill again in a proper sequel would have been compelling, but they fumbled

Such an incredible opportunity wasted. He could have pivoted to a more hopeful, positive Superman, who struggles with the trauma of the kill while hiding it under the symbol of hope persona, which in turn could have also tremendously benefited his connection to Bruce in BvS.

It would’ve been better if Zod haunted him in the sequel just like how Peacemaker got haunted by his dad

Perfect opportunity was right there

I think this is why my opinion on Man of Steel is mixed. We needed a direct sequel that would’ve explored all of this, including his feelings on killing Zod. We don’t touch on any of it in BvS going forward. I blame WB for that, since Snyder wanted to make a standalone trilogy

Shame

I had a couple of problems with Man of Steel but this wasn’t one of them. When I saw it, I thought oh that would be addressed in the next one, how much he doesn’t want to kill but nope!

That had a perfect opportunity to flesh out and explore this character in a way that hadn't been done before smh

Yeah I agree, that’s why it doesn’t affect my opinion on man of steel cause we see how hard it is for him, it’s just that I wish bvs talked about it more but that doesn’t make me like man of steel any less cause that was the sequels job to do
