The USPS provided stable middle class jobs, and it has been systematically and deliberately dismantled for decades. And it was a nationalized service.

It's true. There are no careers. There is no long-term employment. If you work a five-year stint at a company they'll figure out a reason to lay you off, even if you're doing a great job.

The billionaires are sucking all the money out of the system to keep for themselves. Time to tax them down to millionaires since they refuse to share.

That may be, but have you tried pulling on your bootstraps?

What happens when your bootstraps break from pulling on them too much?

Greed, it nothing but greed! UNIONIZE for better wages and working conditions!

You could also afford a home in a good neighborhood with that income.

i don't blame them at all: none of these wages are dignified in any way.... We ALL deserve better

It's corporate greed! While the workers are barely scrapping by, the head honchos are getting millions of dollars in bonuses at the end of the year besides their ludicrous salaries. They reek those benefits by upping the cost to consumers.

@vcakelives this is why revolutions happen, and should

My mail man has a side job cutting trees. It’s crazy.

I think this was a very well made video. But the post office doesn’t make the revenue it made in 1980 It’s always underwater. It can’t support itself as a business. It would be a failing business if it’s wasn’t propped up by the taxpayers.

Numbers are indisputable ADD

@ashleyn1cole Not the only cause of abuse of USPS workers but it would help to #FireLouisDeJoy.

@kmbk6g8vwf Yeah because 1980 was right before the Reagan tax cuts, when every part of the Federal government—incl the post office—had more money (in that day's dollars) to work with, because the Federal tax brackets looked like this👇🏿 ≈twice today's tax percentages.

minimum wage would be 30 dollars had reagan not fucked the economy into what is called a 'trickle down economy' give rich people the money and they will create jobs and innovate! except they didnt. they hoarded it, stuffed it in a box overseas, and get mad when you bring it up.

@H_I_D_E09 There is now a nursing and teacher shortage in the U.S. Two of the most important jobs that one can do.

Something about Reaganomics

My SIL was a mail carrier. That was a great union job. Now retired, she gets a good pension income plus healthcare. Nowadays, we can’t even count on mail getting to us (NO FAULT OF THE WORKERS). The Reds and the Blues are destroying USPS to privatize it.🤬🤬🤬

Fuck

Do the job or find another one - you aren’t required to be a postman or required to accept an offered wage. Take another job or get better skills. Everybody wants the max for the minimum- that’s not how it works.

This is bullshit. Carriers are paid according to their route size and seniority. This guy compared first year full time carriers to part time carriers. And my dad gets paid more than all of these listed salaries in SC which is the least friendly union state.

I’d think this would be a reason that people are just quitting. Not Quiet Quitting. Quiet Quitting means that you’d still be making inadequate money. You’re just not going above and beyond. Even if you were being paid way above market, you probably shouldn’t be over working.

WHAT

You could work that job afford to put yourself thru harvard with that money. Think on that.

@harryjsisson

@Jommayo2323

The cost of living is high asf now

Interesting he would choose a good paying job to highlight his point. Now do it for non-government jobs.

And this is why there is a permanent 'We're Hiring' sign at the post office.

Blame Republicans, they keep doing this 💩 to us!

Insane.
