Sorry if this sounds dumb but can’t they communicate by writing on a notepad or something? Seems like the type of situation where communication is the difference btw life and death🤷🏽♀️
Her allergy would be in her medical records, and can be put on a medical alert bracelet. Also, I would assume they’d be writing to communicate without an interpreter. TV is intentionally overdramatic.
