school is place where u learn & be prepared for the real world. rules, is the point at HS. grades are just a way for kids to learn to compete. to have goal. and nothing wrong with that. whats wrong is the thinking of some utube-guru like this in this video

He’s right. Our education system has failed horribly. These days it’s more concerned about DEI than how to balance a bank account. The feminization of our boys , they know nothing of the basics of taking care of an automobile. Unless of course their parents taught them. I could go on but I’m sure you get the point. Back when I worked with teens , a 10th grader couldn’t even read on a 3rd grade level. And simple math? Forget that. But they could sure tell you what their pronouns were. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

This problem is exactly what I've been working on since 2017 December 24. My solution (aided by my family, friends, and growing global community) is Project Universe. A free opensource education system designed to help wholesomely end poverty in pursuit of peacefully uniting humanity. I obviously don't possess the money to build physical schools everywhere on Earth. Fortunately more than half of humanity already own a digital device capable of playing a "video game" capable of teaching them nearly everything. All of STEM, the trades, and everything else we can possibly imagine can be taught through virtual reality with the proper controllers. The best way of ensuring any education system we create is the best it can possibly be for humanity is through the public domain. As free opensource software you/everyone can review the code for anything malicious/broken/able to be optimized/etc. Even better the software can be used to build physical schools. Through the game we can provide blueprints for building structurally sound buildings. We even provide 3D models that can be 3D printed for use in real-life. Just incase we can also teach people how to construct buildings, create 3D models, build/maintain/tune 3D printers, etc. I have no idea when Project Universe will be ready; hopefully I have 7ish more decades in me. The only person I can fully trust to create an education system ensuring you/humanity's cared for properly is me. I'm here so y'all can hold me accountable directly. Your humble jester aiding in humanity's betterment to their best of my ability as an aspiring indie video game developer.

It is an “ad novitatem” fallacy. Just because certain things have changed doesn't mean that everything must change in order to “modernise”. There are things that work just as they are, today, a century ago, and a century from now.

My two boys "no schooled" against my wishes. Wife was supposed to homeschool but she never did. My oldest son is finishing his last semester in college and to date he's received all A's save for one B and two A-. My 18yo son is in his first semester in college and I'm pretty sure he is going to get all A's. My observation/assessment is they both work really hard because they are afraid they aren't prepared. My oldest is downright paranoid. They never learned they could half-ass it and still get by. They are both quick to get help when they need it. They're never embarrassed to ask. My conclusion is school is overrated and possibly counter productive.

Actually the first public schools in the US were developed to teach literacy so people could read the Bible and discuss it with others, not so they could work in factories.

Education is mostly a solved science. The army has programs to make their recruits fluent in one language in 6 months. And it works the same for decades. No innovation has ever come close. No App, no Online Program.

Show us how people use to walk and talk 150 years ago and the juxtaposition. Jon

The flip-side is that changing how things are taught is a large part of what has resulted in an ignorant populace. Our brains haven't changed, perhaps we should return to teaching methods that worked.

this is why i say the school system has to be changed to adapt to modern times for some years now. we need to do something like implement video usage as the main bulk and computer programming at a young age and statistics

Whoever made this thought they were being very smart But all the INVENTIONS shown were made by people on those exact classroom models The modern examples are just REDESIGNS. No real invention came from the modern students. That says more about the students than the classrooms.

Change doesn't automatically make something better you know.

Any education system be it Hindu gurukuls, Chinese schools of thought, or Roman educational systems, all followed the path of research, debate, and forward thinking. All this changed with industrial development in Europe and Lord Macaulay’s education system.

Compare things invented ~150 years ago with one existing and polished thousands of years...

To many schools have to contend with unruly blacks and illegals who do not speak English. School was much safer and conducive to learning when the classes were smaller and full of whites.

AI education is superior. 2 hours a day and students get higher test scores and are more motivated. No reason you need to go into student debt or go to k-12 other than free day care.
