That AI voice is so grating. I'm not sure why it got so popular. Unnecessarily aggressive.

Very noisy and let water pool around your house, rather than direct it to a drain. these chains are a relic from the days of no proper sewer. Very few Japanese houses have these anymore.

Way to ruin your foundation and have water in your basement.

Except the entire point of a gutter system is to direct water away from the home. This just gives a straight shot to the foundation.

Depends on your location. If your soil can’t drain well, this is a horrible idea. However, if you live in the south west regions, it could be a good solution to keeping your foundation soil saturated properly.

If you don’t think that tiny ass hole is gonna clog with leaves you’re crazy.

How do you ensure it’s draining away from the house foundation?

We don’t need the “much easier to install”, we need the most effective…

Drain pipes are ment to drain water away from your house so the basement doesn’t flood, this just lets it puddle up.

"because they are made of metal they help melt ice faster" You obviously never had your hands stuck to metal that had been left in the snow.

I love how the voice talks about why they're popular in Japan and doesn't show a single example of one in that country. All of these look like they're in the United States.

@grok what's the life expectancy of a rain chain? How often do they break from rust, erosion, and/or animal involvement?
