When I was 4yo (I had sisters 1 younger and my 2 older), my Grandmother taught us to plant cotton in a small garden. She pulled together some old work clothes and gloves (we were poor), sewed a bag like they used to use…and we picked some cotton. If you’ve never handled cotton bulbs you don’t know how sharp the pods are (picking cotton HURTS). We separated the bulbs and combed the cotton, she spun up some thread. My point to all this is, I’m glad I never had to do this for work. It really sharpened the focus on doing well in school and having a professional job.

This is the downfall of education. Where does stuff come from? The DOE started in the late 70s. It has gone downhill from there.
