The reason why Netflix's fake Anime from Adi Shankar fails is because it fundamentally misses why people fell in love with Anime to begin with. Anime's sincerity in it's storytelling makes you develop a strong emotional connection with the characters & their world. When Anime depicts grief it isn't a joke it is genuine raw human emotion.
